چکیده
This work is meant to quantify the benefits of the foot orthoses [1,2] through the clinical case of a female patient aged 67 who broke her right calcaneum. To investigate this, we implemented three experiments commonly used during podiatric examinations to assess walking parameters: the passive antepulsion test, the stabilo-baro-podometrie analysis [3,4] and the Latero-Medial Index, measures taken immediately (T0) and after 16 days (T16) wearing plantar orthotics. (figure 1) Foot orthoses, deduced after clinical examination and quantitative analysis of walking, are molded, wisch are supplemented by the addition of specific low stimulations. The results clearly show the benefits on stability. The foot orthoses allows the patient to recover the normal use of the ankle thanks to the positive effects on support and movement of a fractured foot [5]. Therefore, the foot orthoses tends to improve the balance of the fractured foot. Moreover, these positive effects are persistent throughout the time. In a latter phase, the adjustments carried out on the foot orthoses that modify the foot simulation [3,4],

Effects of medially wedged foot orthoses on knee and hip joint running mechanics in females with and without patellofemoral pain syndrome.
We examined the effects of medially wedged foot orthoses on knee and hip joint mechanics during running in females with and without patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS). We also tested if these effects depend on standing calcaneal eversion angle. Twenty female runners with and without PFPS participated. Knee and hip joint transverse and frontal plane peak angle, excursion, and peak internal knee...
متن کاملEffect of Custom-Molded Foot Orthoses on Foot Pain and Balance in Children With Symptomatic Flexible Flat Feet.
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of custom-molded foot orthoses on foot pain and balance in children with symptomatic flexible flat foot 1 month and 3 months after fitting foot orthosis. METHOD A total of 24 children over 6 years old with flexible flat feet and foot pain for at least 6 months were recruited for this study. Their resting calcaneal stance position and calcaneal pitch angle were...
متن کاملEffect of Foot Orthoses on Children With Lower Extremity Growing Pains
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of custom molded foot orthoses on children with growing pains of the lower extremities. METHODS Children with growing pains were recruited during a clinic visit. None had any bony deformities, inflammatory joint disease or depression. Resting calcaneal stance position (RCSP) and calcaneal pitch angle were measured, and individual custom molded rigid foot ortho...
متن کاملComparison of the efficacy of surgical and non-surgical treatments in intra-articular calcaneal fracture
Calcaneal fracture accounts for 2% of all fractures and is the most common tarsal fracture. Regarding this, the present study was conducted to determine and compare the surgical and non-surgical treatments in adult patients with calcaneal fractures in terms of outcomes, patients’ satisfaction level, and complications. This clinical trial was conducted on 63 patients with intraarticular fracture...
متن کاملEfficacies of different external controls for excessive foot pronation: a meta-analysis.
OBJECTIVES This meta-analysis investigated the efficacies of foot orthoses, motion control footwear and therapeutic adhesive taping in controlling foot pronation as compared with no-intervention conditions. DATA SOURCES Electronic searches on four electronic databases were performed and the reference lists of the screened articles were also scrutinised. REVIEW METHODS Two reviewers screened...
